South Haven, MI

Taylor, Trevor and I spent Thursday in South Haven with some friends. They were vacationing in a beach house for the week. We went into town to hang out on the public beach for the day and when we arrived I noticed right away a water spout (tornado on the water), well we got out of the car paid to park and got to the spot we wanted and watched this thing move across the water. It was really quite cool to watch (from a DISTANCE!), then the rain started, so we all ran to our vans! Once the rain stopped we went back down only to have another round of rain come through. Some of them stayed down under the beach umbrella and the rest of us (SMART ONES!) went back to the van to wait it out. All in all it was a GREAT day and ended up being very nice on the beach. The waves were incredible! I was glad I made the time and took the trip to hang with my friends on the beach! MY IDEA OF A PERFECT DAY!

I went up on Wednesday night and spent the night so the next morning Terri, Rhonda, Caleb and I went for a walk down the beach in front of where their house was. It was beautiful! This was before the storm!

This is the set of steps they had to take to the private beach area! THERE WERE OVER 100 OF THEM!!! AAAAAHHH!!! I did them ONCE and that was ENOUGH! They ended up finding an area down the beach a ways where they could drive to and not have to take the steps!

The first waterspout after it moved by us and was getting ready to go on land.

Our group is on that beach someplace. I was up by the lighthouse when I took this.

The goofballs who stayed under the umbrella during the second downpour.
This was the first waterspout and the boat is some type of ride you can take on Lake Michigan! LUCKY PEOPLE! LOL

Jesse, Leah, & Taylor the best of friends!

Throne Reunion

Every other year we have a Throne Reunion that is held at my parents home. This year was not a very big turn out, but we had a great time. We had a water balloon toss and a cherry pit spitting contest. It was so funny to watch everyone spit those pits the farthest. I get kind of sentimental and enjoy visiting with family whether you see them often or you only see them at the reunion. Family is very important to us and I like my kids to know who their family is.

Everyone preparing for the cherry pit spitting contest!

This is my Great Aunt Dorthy who is absolutely hilarious! She has false teeth and we were laughing so hard waiting to see if her teeth would fly out of her mouth with the pit! LOL

This is my Great Aunt Marie, she is my Grandpa Throne's sister.

This is my cousin Heidi and her daughter Emily.

TUBING!

Sunday afternoon we spent time with a family that Stan coached their son in football and has become very close to. Tyson is now in college and plays football at Bluffton. His Mom and I became more acquainted during Mom's Connect at our church. They are just a wonderful family and had invited us up for lunch and boating. The kids LOVE the water so it was GREAT! Gail and I floated around on the pontoon and they tubed with the speed boat.

Mr. Hilkert giving Taylor a helping hand!

HANG ON TREVOR!!!

Here come the boaters

Football Practice

Tyler started football practice a week ago. The first picture is of him coming in the very first day. He goes at 7:30am-10:00am and then back again from 5:15-7:30. The second picture if from today, as you can tell his smile isn't quite as big today. He has been sore and boy does he STINK! On Saturday morning one of the freshmen broke their wrist and he said it was GROSS! Tyler will be the starting JV quarterback and possibly he said starting on Friday nights with special teams (it's the group that is on the field during the kick offs). He is playing something else, but I'm not sure.
