TAYLOR TURNS 13!!!

Taylor had a sleepover (I was informed they are no longer called SLUMBER PARTIES!) last Friday night for her 13th birthday. She ended up with I think 13 girls here at one point, though not all of them stayed over night. They had a BLAST, playing American Idol on the ps2, screaming, laughing till some might have peed their pants and just having good clean fun. I told all the boys that they were to find places to stay overnight since I didn't figure on getting any sleep here. They had a cake fight between two or three of the girls and had cake all over themselves! I do think they all had a great time!

We were so busy that weekend and by Sunday evening my eye lids felt like sandpaper. I was glad it was over! Now I do not have to worry about having another big party like that till maybe 16! WHEW! I did tell the neighbor lady that I was glad it was to cold yet to have the windows opened, otherwise they would've been heard all over town!

Holger's first baseball game

Holger hitting his RBI

Checking the play calls from the third base coach

Holger finally got to play his first baseball game EVER, last Wednesday. He had an RBI which we told him was GREAT! He is really enjoying baseball and would like to play even when he gets back to Germany. He has his second game tomorrow night and he worked VERY hard at practice today so he is hoping to actually play in the outfield. They did win the game that night, but I can't remember the score! I know I know, I am so bad about that, people will say what was the score? I never know, just who won or lost!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

The weather this weekend was so beautiful! It seemed like everyone was taking advantage of this first nice weekend of Spring. Our neighbors were all out working in their yards. Of course my husband spent all day Saturday working on a baseball diamond just to have the games canceled anyways. Tyler and Holger have not yet played a game and they were scheduled to play two Saturday and Holger was to have one last Wednesday. Both are itching to start the season.

Stan did take the boys Friday to a Detroit Tigers baseball game. It was Holger's first time at Comerica Park, but his second time in downtown Detroit. They had very good seats down near the first base line. Tyler was pumped to see all these players up close. Holger I guess was standing on his seat at one point trying to catch the t-shirts they were throwing to the crowd. The weather was a little chilly, but it was not rainy or anything like that. Tyler took all the pictures for me and he did so much better than Stan did the last time they went!

I hate to see the weekend come to a close and another week start. Today was so relaxing, I laid blankets out on the deck with a pillow and took a nap. It felt SO GOOD! I guess though all good things must come to an end! This week they are calling for cooler weather and rain! UGH! Taylor is helping with a mini cheer camp that the elementary are having and she gets to help with our good friends preschool daughter. Taylor is excited about doing that.

Well hope everyone has a wonderful work week!

Remember When?

This morning the girls were out on the porch taking all the shoes, gloves, hats, and coats out. They were making a huge mess of the porch, it reminded me of when I was a kid always wanting to dress up and play pretend. My Mom has pictures of me with Dad's boots on, I think they were up to my chin. Maybe Grandpa Heer's vest on with a CAT hat!

There was one time when my cousin Jodi and I dressed Jess up in a dress. We had him all made up, I mean we are talking Dolly Parton stuffed!! We were headed back to the play area in the basement, when Jess tripped on the steps. He bounced all the way DOWN, we all laughed so hard I think maybe Jodi and I wet our pants!

Those that really know me, know I am very sentimental and love to reminisce. Sometimes life gets so demanding and hectic and we lose focus. Today I thought of that as I'm watching the girls play house and dress up. Some days it would be so nice to just play instead of having all the responsibilities. It's nice to just sit and listen to little kids play, you can learn a lot!
